Pizza Stone

I bought myself a proper pizza stone on Christmas eve.15'' in diameter and made of ceramic stone,it came with a carrying tray that when turned over becomes a serving tray.As the stone is hot when it comes out of the oven i was not sure how this was to be achieved. In fact the instructions and guidelines that come with the pizza stone say that once the stone has reached the required temperature it is far too hot to handle with conventional oven gloves. This made me question how i was supposed to get it out of the oven when cooked.
Anyway i tried it out, deciding that i needed to stick it on the top of the oven whilst i topped the pizza with my ingredients. As it was so hot it immediately started to bubble up,so i had to move quickly.
I put it in the oven and left it to cook. When it had cooked i lifted the whole oven shelf out(I had decided this was the best option). The pizza did not want to come off of the stone though. This is when i remembered,or more importantly hadn't remembered,to flour the surface as per the guidelines.I did manage to get the pizza off of the stone eventually but it was partly in pieces.Only some of them came off in the slices that i had cut it into.It was a shame really as it had looked a really nice pizza. It still tasted lovely though and had cooked really well.Definitely a good buy though.
