Helpfull Hints And Tips 3-Getting A Crust On Your Loaf

When i watch baking programmes on the television and someone is making a loaf they always seem to get  a nice crust on their loaf. This is something i have never seemed to be able to achieve, until i picked up this helpfull tip which i would like to share.
When you pre-heat your oven put your kettle on to boil some water. When this is boiled pour it into a tray of some sort(A roasting tray will do).Place this in the bottom of your oven and close the oven door again.Leave for about 5 minutes so that the oven becomes a bit like a steam room before putting your loaf in to bake. This should result in your loaf having a nice crust when it has finished baking.
