This is the recipe for the Chocolate Cherries that Mrs Monday Baker made to add to the Handmade chocolates that i made.She made it with leftover marzipan from making the Christmas cake.These ingredients make 24.
Ingredients
12 glace cherries.
2 tbsp of rum or brandy.
250g of marzipan.
125g of dark chocolate.
Recipe
1.Line a baking tray with a sheet of baking parchment.
2.Cut the cherries in half and place in a small bowl.
3.Add the rum or brandy and stir to coat.
3.Leave the cherries to soak for at least an hour.
4.Divide the marzipan into 24 pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
5.Press half a cherry into the top of each marzipan ball.
6.Break the chocolate into pieces,place in a bowl and set over a pan of hot water.
7.Stir until the chocolate has melted.
8.Dip each sweet into the melted chocolate allowing the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
9.Place the coated sweets on the baking parchment and chill until set.
