Like i am sure a lot of people i use herbs in quite a lot of cooking. What i find though is that they can be quite expensive if brought fresh and you only use a small bit of it.This becomes an expensive part of cooking so i decided to look into growing my own.I bought a small kit from a bargain shop that had little pots,Basil,Chives and Oregano seeds, some compost and a little wooden box to place the three pots in.
A colleague of mine then gave me some extra packets of seeds so we brought some plastic four-leaf clover pots and planted them up as well.
All in all we planted some Basil,Coriander,Parsley,Sweet Basil,Chives and Oregano. We were also given some lettuce seeds so we planted them as well.
Nothing seemed to happen for a while, there again the weather has been still fairly cold till recently, but things have started to look up.The lettuce seeds have grown really well and eventually so have the other seeds.Apart from the Basil that is.Never mind it's to be expected when trying to grow in this country
