Chocolate Chip Bread

I was making my Cheese,Onion And Herb Round loaf when i decided to knock up something sweet.I had already bought the chocolate chips already as i had plans to make this at some point anyway.It only took a few minutes to do,in fact Mrs Monday bake never even realised i had been gone and didn't know i had knocked up something else.


Ingredients

225g plain flour.
1tbsp cocoa powder.
Pinch of salt.
15g butter.
1tbsp caster sugar.
7g easy dried yeast.
150 ml lukewarm water.
55g chocolate chips.

Recipe

1.Boil the kettle and pour 150 ml of water into a jug.Leave to go lukewarm.
2.Brush a baking sheet with oil.
3.Sift the flour into a mixing bowl.
4.Sift the cocoa powder into the bowl.
5.Sift the salt into the bowl.
6.Melt the butter slightly,cut and add to the dry ingredients.
7.Add the caster sugar to the bowl.
8.Add the yeast to the bowl.
9.Stir the above ingredients.
10,Gradually add the water,continually stirring with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.
11.Lightly flour your work surface.
12.Turn out your dough and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
13.Knead the chocolate chips into the dough.
14.Form the dough into a round loaf and place onto your prepared baking tray.
15.Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 1-1 1/2 hours until the dough has doubled in size.
16.Pre-heat your oven to 220 degrees c/425 degrees f/Gs mark 6.
17.When your dough has doubled in size place in the pre-heated oven.
18.Bake for 10 minutes.
19.Reduce the temperature to 190 degrees c/375 degrees f/Gas mark 5 and continue to bake for at least 15 more minutes.
20.When your loaf is baked transfer to a wire rack and leave to cool.
